  • I've been a patient at Fort Gary Dental for over 14 years and I can't recommend them enough! The level of care the friendliness of the staff and their attention to detail are truly outstanding. Not only do I go here but my kids my sister and her family all do as well! The staff has always been fantastic and the fact that many of them have been with the practice throughout my years as a patient speaks volumes about the positive work environment. Dr. Patrick Mao along with every hygienist dental assistant and clerk has made each visit a great experience. They always ensure we feel comfortable and my daughter even loves going to the dentist which really says it all! One of the things I appreciate most is the convenience—they send text reminders for appointments which is so helpful for busy schedules and they are fantastic with kids. It's so nice to not have to go to separate places for adult and pediatric care. The bond my kids have developed with their hygienists is invaluable making each visit smooth and stress-free. If you're looking for a dental clinic that provides excellent care in a warm and welcoming environment Fort Gary Dental is the place to go!

  • Having been going to this practice since the early 1980’s through various owners. Barb my go to dental hygienist for many many years is amazing. Always very thorough upbeat supportive and strictly adheres to safety protocols. Michelle at the front is friendly and helpful always. Dr. Mao is a very good dentist who listens to patient’s concerns and does his best to accommodate them without compromising the best dental action necessary. The building is always very well maintained.

  • I called for a cleaning. With in a couple of days I received a call requesting a date. But she also mentioned she had a cancellation that afternoon. I took the cancellation appointment. I did not have to wait long. The cleaning went well. I wish I still had insurance but I am long retired. The government has a program but most of the dentists are not a part of it so it needs to be re-thought-thru from the government. JC

  • Dr Mao is fantastic! Very empathetic with patient concerns. I recently had a filling replaced and had not had one for an extremely long time long time so I was very nervous. He took time to chat and style my nerves and during the procedure assured me he would go slow and I should let him know when it was too much and I needed him to pause. My filling is excellent and I left feeling so relieved. Thanks Dr Mao!

  • I have been a patient of Dr. Miao going on 20 years. He is a wonderful doctor. The receptionist is very friendly helpful and knowledgeable she has been there for 28 years. Her years of service speak for the atmosphere competence excellent working conditions and respect she has for this establishment. I can't say enough good about this office you will not be disappointed.

  • Always a good experience as far as having dental work can be classified as a “good experience.” Dr. Mao and his staff have always been professional and kind. They also make sure that I am well informed as to any dental problems seen suggestions for options for treatment showing me all X-rays including before and after treatment as well as encourage me to ask questions.

    Dr Patrick Mao

    General Dentist

    Dr. Patrick Mao received his Dental Degree from The University of Manitoba in 1996, and has been practicing at Fort Garry Dental Centre since 1998.

    Dr. Mao specializes in Implant and Cosmetic Dentistry, with an emphasis on mercury-amalgam-free white fillings, as well as all aspects of General Dentistry including Endodontics (Root Canals), Crown and Bridge, Children's Dentistry, Oral Surgery and Invisalign Orthodontics.

    Dr. Mao has been teaching at the University of Manitoba Faculty of Dentistry, Dept. of Restorative Dentistry since 1998 and have also received numerous awards for Excellence in Teaching at the Faculty.

    Dr.Mao also mentors dental students on a regular basis.

    Dr.Mao is a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, an International Honour Dental Organization.

    Dr. Mao is an Executive Board Member of the Winnipeg Dental Society (Past President) and a Member of the Manitoba Dental Association.

    Dr. Mao is also a Board Member of The Manitoba Dental Foundation and actively involved with it's numerous charitable work.
